.: HISTORY

Sperrin Óg celebrated 10 years of playing in the Tyrone County League in 2001. This was the same year that the club first won a major senior title, by lifting the Division III League Shield. The Senior team went on to emulate that achievement in 2002 by winning both the Division II League and Intermediate Championship title.

.: 1999

1999 saw our club compete in the U-12 League, Tyrone Crystal U-14 Championship, Elaine Treanor U-16 League and Kelly's Inn U-16 Championship and Begley's Minor League and Championship. It was decided by all members not to form a senior panel due to a lack of available players, and to allow us the opportunity to concentrate our efforts on developing the underage teams within the club. A total 50 members were registered with the club during the 1999 season.

Helen Clarke, Peggy McCullagh and Patricia McCullagh undertook the training and managing of the Minor section. On their way they picked up a total of 4 points out of a possible 6.

Helen, Peggy and Patricia again took the U-16's. They competed in the Elaine Treanor Juvenile League in which they collected a total of 6 points out of a possible 10.

The same management team was in charge of the U-14 team who competed in the Tyrone Crystal sponsored League which resulted in them finishing top of the league table in their section, gaining a total of 10 points out of a possible 10.

The U-12 panel participated in Section 2 of the League, again under the same management. They completed a series of 6 games in total beating such teams along the way as Fintona, Dungannon, Carrickmore, Beragh, St. Macartans and Errigal Ciaran taking them to the semi-finals were they met and beat Dromore. In the Final they again met and beat St. Macartans. Leaving us the overall winners in the U-12 League.

The 1999 season concluded again with a joint Dinner Dance in the Greenvale Hotel - Cookstown and the following presentations were made on the night:
